About the Role

The Company is in search of a Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to join its dynamic team. The CRO will be the senior executive responsible for the strategic leadership and management of all risk aspects within the organization, ensuring safety, soundness, and regulatory compliance. This pivotal role involves overseeing credit risk, operational risk, compliance risk, and enterprise risk management across all business functions. The successful candidate will lead the risk management team, develop and implement risk policies and procedures, and work closely with the executive team to maintain a robust risk management framework. Key responsibilities include credit risk management, participations and investments, BSA compliance, collections management, operational risk management, and risk governance and reporting. The ideal candidate for the CRO position at the company will have a minimum of 10 years' experience in risk management within the financial services or credit union sector, with at least 5 years' in a leadership role. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required, with a preference for a Master's degree or professional designation. In-depth knowledge of credit union operations, financial products, and relevant regulatory requirements is essential. The role demands a professional with proven experience in managing various risk functions, strong analytical and decision-making skills, and the ability to lead and develop a high-performing risk management team. The CRO should be adept at fostering a risk-aware culture, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be proficient in risk management software and financial modeling tools. A proactive, strategic mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and risk mitigation is also a key attribute for the successful candidate.
