Job Description: Chief Information Officer (CIO)

Location: Atlanta, GA On-site

Salary: $300,000 - $325,000 per year plus attractive benefits and bonus

Position Overview:

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) will be accountable for providing overall strategic direction and leadership to the IT department, ensuring that IT initiatives and strategies align with and support the broader goals of the company. This role is responsible for the development of strategic IT plans, reduction of overall costs, and fostering business development through effective technology use. The CIO will also oversee all IT operations, working closely with a variety of stakeholders to ensure the seamless execution of IT initiatives. As a key member of the senior management team, the CIO will collaborate with executive leadership to contribute to the overall business strategy of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the overall IT strategy to align with the company's mission, vision, and business goals.
  • Lead the IT department to optimize performance, efficiency, and cost savings.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure business and IT objectives are met.
  • Oversee the execution of IT operations, infrastructure, software development, cybersecurity, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Ensure the use of innovative technologies (e.g., AI, cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) to improve business operations and advance organizational efficiencies.
  • Manage IT budgets and allocate resources effectively to meet business goals.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement in IT processes and service delivery.
  • Lead and mentor IT leadership team, ensuring team alignment with the strategic goals of the company.
  • Assess and manage risk associated with IT systems, security, and data management.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and ensure the IT department remains on the cutting edge of technological advancements.
  • Actively participate in executive-level meetings to help shape overall company business strategy.
  • Provide regular reports on IT department performance, strategy execution, and innovation to the executive team and board of directors.
  • Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related field from an accredited university. An MBA with a focus on IT leadership or Digital Transformation is preferred.
  • Strong technical foundation in IT systems, software development, network infrastructure, databases, enterprise architecture, and cybersecurity.
  • Certifications are a plus (e.g., ITIL, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, AI, and/or Executive Leadership Programs like Harvard/MIT).
  • At least 15 years of progressively increasing experience in IT leadership roles, with demonstrated expertise in driving IT strategy, managing complex projects, and fostering innovation.
  • Proven experience in leading digital transformation initiatives.
  • Solid understanding of the application of emerging technologies to solve business challenges.

Preferred:

  • Experience in the light manufacturing industry or related fields is strongly preferred.
  • Residing in the Atlanta area is highly preferred
  • Experience with manufacturing

  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically while balancing business needs and IT capabilities.
