Overview:

 

Delivers and coordinates the standardized new hire Nursing orientation program for licensed and unlicensed coworkers. Responsible for developing and updating the core program in alignment with evidenced based practice.

 

The initial focus for this role will be on developing, coordinating, presenting, documenting and maintaining education for those nurses working in critical care areas, including, but not limited to, ICU, CTU, and ED departments.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • BSN RN candidates must have 2+ years of clinical experience.
    • ASN RN candidates must have 10+ years hospital nursing experience or 5+ years experience if actively enrolled in an RN to BSN program.
    • Demonstrates clinical knowledge related to evidence-based practice with the credibility to positively influence the delivery of patient care.
    • Knowledge of equipment/technology used in delivery of patient care.
    • Proven ability to organize and multitask to meet project deadlines.
    • Computer skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Preferred Experience:
    • ICU, CTU, or ED experience preferred.
    • 2 years teaching experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of audiovisual equipment preferred.
  • Required Education: Nursing Degree from an accredited school 
  • Licensure: C urrent RN license within the state of Missouri and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements. 
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
    • Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
    • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
