Conservation Aids assist professional staff in a variety of projects involving the conservation and preservation of the State's natural resources.

The Biodiversity Division has a single seasonal opening based in the Headquarters Office located in Reno, NV. This position is a 6-month duration over the late spring-summer and potentially early fall months, working up to 1035 hours. The position will perform a variety of duties related to wildlife management, conservation, and wildlife ecology, however, it will primarily focus on wildlife data management, manipulation, and analyses. This position requires a valid driver's license at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. Applicant is responsible for securing housing. To Qualify In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Graduation from high school and one year of experience in resource conservation projects or wildlife management projects such as assisting with creel census, surveys, identifying fish and wildlife species, vegetation management or similar work; OR six months of experience as a Conservation Aid II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Notes Work may be performed under adverse weather conditions and include extensive walking under difficult conditions, camping in remote, primitive locations. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
