We are looking for an International Logistics Coordinator to join our team! International Logistics Coordinators assist in managing incoming and outgoing International shipping logistics for cargo transportation carriers and shipping companies. The ideal candidate would be responsible carrier selection, planning, coordination and monitoring of customer’s shipments while ensuring they move along seamlessly through the work process established by the company. Manage communication with shippers, consignees, steamship lines, airlines, freight forwarders, drayage companies, trucking companies and internal logistics department to ensure shipments are processed in a timely manner in compliance with US Customs and FMC regulations. You will
Pursue new sales’ leads discuss and sells the Company’s services to current clients and promptly forwards potential leads to designated person
Coordinates aspects of the routing and rating of air & ocean freight to include providing quotes to customers, working with international and/or domestic agents, approving carrier invoices for payment, handling pick-ups and deliveries.
Determines best methods for shipping to ensure customer satisfaction; thereby retaining existing business and attracting new business.
Prepares documents required for import or export of clients’ shipments.
Completes import/export arrangements for customers, including bookings, container arrangements, insurance, carrier payments and transportation companies (ocean, air and trucking).
Develop and increase profitable volume with existing and newly acquired shippers
Use strong relationships to understand customer’s business, better qualifying them to identify and
solve the customer’s problems (i.e. billing, tracing shipments) and handle customer concerns.
Increase the overall capacity for the office and company
Deliver exceptional customer service
Uphold the company standard following the company principles of Customer, Company, Office
Cross-trains in additional responsibilities.
Skills and Experience
College degree highly desired or equivalent experience
Self-motivated, enthusiastic team player who excels in a fast-paced environment
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in International Logistics/ Ocean Freight Forwarding/customer service
Excellent and effective communication skills
Strong customer service orientation and excellent work ethic
Ability to quickly process information and make decisions
Effective negotiation and problem-solving skills, and ability to handle conflict
Excellent time-management skills with the ability to multitask
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
