Job Title: Test Engineer
Job Description
As a Test Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the physical testing of fasteners and joints across a range of products. Your role is crucial in minimizing risk within upcoming programs and ensuring that applicable tests are completed within demanding project timelines. You will interface with a broad spectrum of internal customers to understand and prioritize testing needs, independently conducting fastener and joint tests in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
Responsibilities
+ Complete fastener and joint tests independently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
+ Create and manage documentation for concerns to facilitate and trace corrective actions to resolution.
+ Introduce new fastener and joint test methods into the lab's workstream, including method selection, equipment sourcing, deployment, validation, and training.
+ Communicate effectively with global colleagues to ensure consistent implementation of testing standards and prompt cross-implementation of improvements.
+ Facilitate cost-effective outsourced test activities when appropriate.
+ Lead test technicians to support test setup, execution, interpret results, and generate comprehensive reports.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or equivalent.
+ 2+ years of experience in mechanical/fastener test engineering.
+ Knowledge in bolted joint design, fastener production quality control, mechanical behavior of materials, and experimental statistics.
+ Experience with fastener/joint tests, including destructive and non-destructive tests, clamp load, torque, joint slip tests.
+ Hands-on experience with torque, angle, and ultrasonic clamp load measurement devices.
+ Experience with various mechanical test methods such as tension, compression, bending, lap shear, fatigue.
+ Experience with universal test systems (electro-mechanical and hydraulic) and strain measurement techniques.

+ Exceptional candidates with fewer years of relevant experience may still be considered.
+ Self-motivated and strong desire to learn new skills and create innovative test methods.
+ Ability to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines.
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills for establishing effective working relationships.

This role operates in a fast-paced environment where exposure to all vehicles is provided. The work environment demands high adaptability and efficiency under pressure.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
