Responsibilities: \nInterpret physician orders and prescriptions to accurately prepare, calculate, and dispense medication dosages for both inpatient and outpatient settings, adhering to the Pennsylvania Pharmacy Practice Act and federal regulations.
\nIdentify and promptly report suspected adverse drug reactions to ensure patient safety and improve therapeutic outcomes.
\nSustain the medication formulary by minimizing non-formulary procurements, implementing therapeutic interchange protocols, and promoting rational drug therapy to optimize patient care.
\nScreen and maintain patient medication records for allergies, drug interactions, and therapeutic duplications, ensuring the accuracy of orders during verification processes.
\nOrganize daily pharmacy operations and assist in supervising pharmacy technicians, aides, interns, and other personnel to enhance pharmaceutical care delivery.
\nAdhere to all regulatory requirements, professional standards, and hospital policies to ensure high-quality pharmaceutical care.
\nCommunicate effectively with physicians and nurses to clarify unclear, illegible, or incomplete orders, fostering collaborative healthcare.
\nProvide drug information and educational programs to healthcare professionals and pharmacy students while leveraging advanced computer systems and technologies in medication management.
