This role involves designing, programming, testing, and maintaining PLC-based control systems. The ideal candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams-including electrical, mechanical, software, and proposal engineers-to deliver reliable, integrated automation solutions that meet or exceed client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop PLC and loop controller systems based on project specifications.
  • Program and troubleshoot PLCs and loop controllers from a variety of manufacturers, such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric (Modicon), and in-house systems.
  • Develop and maintain Human Machine Interface (HMI) terminals for end-user control and interaction.
  • Document control system designs and maintain records of all system modifications.
  • Participate in system testing, commissioning, and startup activities.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers and proposal engineers to ensure timely and accurate project execution.
  • Apply knowledge of combustion control concepts including Burner Management Systems, Draft Control, Drum Level Control, and Fuel-Air Ratio Control.
  • Travel occasionally (approximately 10%) for meetings and on-site system support.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience programming PLCs using ladder logic, function block diagrams, and other control languages.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, and Ethernet/IP.
  • Experience with HMI design and SCADA systems (e.g., Ignition SCADA, IFIX, Citect) is strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to learn-training will be provided for the right candidate.

Benefits

  • 401(k) with employer matching
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Health savings account (HSA)
  • Life insurance
  • Paid time off (PTO)
  • Performance-based quarterly bonuses

This opportunity is ideal for candidates looking to contribute to impactful industrial projects while working in a collaborative, family-oriented environment with deep roots in American manufacturing and innovation.
