Job Summary

As the Sous Chef of a premier corporate location at 11 Times Square, you will support the successful culinary operations, focusing largely on catering, and receptions. You will support the Executive Chef and serve as lead in his/her absence, taking responsibility for culinary functions including ordering, inventory and management.

This position requires Monday through Friday daytime and early evening availability. Shifts generally start at 7am but will flex based on evening events (approximately 1-2 nights per week/ no later than 9pm). Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the successful culinary operations including planning and menu creation, preparation, cooking, service
  • Providing outstanding service to guests and clients
  • Managing a culinary team of hourly associates
  • Rolls out new culinary programs in conjunction with the marketing and culinary team.
  • Assists with managing cost controls and controlling expenditure, inventory, ordering
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of related culinary experience including supervisory experience
  • Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.
  • Knowledge of food and industry trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, safety, food cost controls, and presentation.
  • Supervisory, leadership, training, management, and coaching skills.
  • ServSafe or Department of Health Certification is preferred.
  • Computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products including Excel.
