Trellix Administrator at Virtual Instruments summary:

The Trellix Administrator is responsible for the administration and management of Trellix Endpoint Security System (ESS) solutions across secure DoD network environments. This role involves deploying, configuring, and maintaining ESS infrastructure in compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards, supporting threat detection, and providing Tier 3 technical support. The position requires extensive expertise in cybersecurity frameworks, endpoint security tools, and collaboration with multiple security teams to ensure mission-critical operational integrity.

The Opportunity:

CACI is looking for a Trellix Administrator, also known as a Trellix Endpoint Security System (ESS) Subject Matter Expert (SME), to support our customer to provide a common set of required EIT services across 187 bases to implement a consistent, high-quality experience for users across all mission environments and enable USAF to transition focus from network operations to mission operations.

The Trellix Administrator, a critical member of our organization, will manage Trellix solutions in secure DoD network environments. This role requires expertise in endpoint security, cybersecurity best practices, and adherence to DoD standards such as STIGs.  The Trellix Administrator will be responsible for network management of Trellix solutions throughout the Department.

Responsibilities:

  • System administration of ESS infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers in compliance with DoD STIGs.
  • Deploying and optimizing ESS components like Trellix Agent, ENS, DLPe, PA, RSD, and TACC.
  • Maintaining malware security compliance through the Trellix ePO console.
  • Advanced troubleshooting, policy tuning, signature analysis, and responding to system issues.
  • Developing and maintaining ESS configurations and SOPs aligned with NIST and RMF frameworks.
  • Conducting security assessments and vulnerability scans.
  • Support threat detection and response by integrating ESS with other tools.
  • Leading efforts for complete endpoint coverage.
  • Providing Tier 3 support for supported issues.
  • Troubleshoot reported issues/incidents from end users and field support.
  • Engage with engineering teams as necessary to field solutions.
  • Track all relevant SLA/SLRs and provide reports as required.
  • Contribute to documentation and infrastructure modernization efforts. 
  • Collaborate with DAF enterprise and program security teams to ensure requirements are met.
  • Communicate effectively and collaboratively with customers, stakeholders, and peers.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Proficiency in Trellix ESS (or HBSS) modules.
  • Demonstrated experience with cybersecurity tools (ACAS, Splunk).
  • Experience with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, RMF).
  • Experience working in a DoD environment.
  • Familiarity with STIG requirements.
  • Familiarity with ITILv4.
  • Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodologies.
  • Strong skills with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Project, Visio) and SharePoint.
  • 10+ Years of relevant experience (Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field may be substituted for 5 years of relevant experience).
  • An active DoD secret clearance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Acts independently to expose and resolve problems.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$75,200-$158,100
