Tekberry is looking for a highly qualified and motivated Senior Billing Specialist to work hybrid with our client, supporting the Retail Billing Operations team. This is a long-term contract role with the potential to extend based on performance and business needs. Responsibilities Invoice Creation, Processing & Review Create invoices accurately and on schedule across assigned billing cycles.
Review invoices for pricing accuracy, contract compliance, tax accuracy, and system integrity.
Reconcile invoice data prior to release to ensure accurate and error-free distribution.
Track and log all returned or undeliverable invoices (postal returns, email bounce-backs, blocked domains, invalid email addresses).
Investigate and resolve root causes including incorrect addresses, outdated contact data, or customer system issues.
Reissue corrected invoices and update billing profiles, delivery methods, or customer preferences as needed.
Verify and maintain accurate invoice delivery methods (email vs. postal mail).
Update and maintain customer contact records including billing email addresses, mailing addresses, and designated recipients.
Coordinate with clients and internal partners to validate delivery preferences when failures occur.
Research and resolve escalated billing requests including credits, refunds, pricing disputes, account reviews, and cancellations.
Execute complex manual billing transactions requiring cross-system validation.
Document findings, resolutions, and customer communications in ServiceNow and/or Salesforce.
Process ServiceNow tickets, emails, and tasks within defined SLA standards.
Maintain reports and reconciliations related to adjustments, cancellations, and delivery exceptions.
Support month-end close activities including reconciliation and exception cleanup.
Contribute to SOP development and process documentation, particularly related to invoice delivery and exception handling.
Identify recurring defects or patterns related to undeliverable invoices and recommend process improvements.
Provide peer support and informal training on complex billing workflows as needed.
5+ years of experience in billing operations, accounts receivable, or related finance functions.
Strong proficiency with Excel (intermediate to advanced) .
Experience with enterprise billing and financial systems such as SAP, RMB, Microsoft AX, AS400, Oracle AR , and ticketing/CRM tools including ServiceNow and Salesforce .
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in high-volume billing environments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills with experience handling escalations.
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and consistently meet deadlines.
Ability to work onsite 2 3 days per week .
Experience supporting retail or enterprise billing operations.
Prior involvement in billing process improvement or operational optimization initiatives.
Experience supporting audits or compliance-related billing reviews.
